Indian Army discovered tunnel in Pallanwalla sector along LoC leading to PoK

Pallanwalla sector: A tunnel leading to PoK discovered by Indian Army
Indian Army on 23 August 2014 discovered a tunnel in the Pallanwalla sector along the Line of Control in Jammu & Kashmir. The tunnel, discovered in an incomplete form, was leading to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK).
The tunnel is located 50 meter inside the Indian Territory and is about two-and-half feet wide and about three-and-half feet high.
The tunnel was discovered during routine patrolling by the Army when the land in the search area caved in due to heavy rains.
It was found in the area where a jawan had died on 22 July 2014 in an encounter with infiltrators who had sneaked in about 700 meters inside the Indian Territory.
Earlier in June 2012, a 300-meter tunnel was detected in Samba district in Jammu & Kashmir. In that instance too, the tunnel was detected when the land caved in and no exit point was found then either.
